My Weekend in Aguascalientes Feria de San Marcos and Palenque...

Les cuento que me tocó vivir una nueva y muy agradable experiencia, asistí un fin de semana a la tan famosísima Feria de San Marcos del mérito Aguascalientes , México. Desde niña había escuchado de esta Feria que es una de las más importantes en el país y que se viene llevando a cabo - según lo que me contaron los locales - desde hace 189 años , así que ya sabrán es de gran tradición. Se lleva a cabo entre los meses de Abril y Mayo en el estado de Aguascalientes. Con el tiempo terminó siendo una feria muy completa e interesante. Peleas de Gallos en el palenque donde asisten los más importantes criaderos de gallos de pelea del país, y claro los mejores cantantes deleitando al público, también hay corridas de toros, y lo clásico de las ferias en los estados mostrando y vendiendo lo que se produce en los alrededores.

Yo tuve la suerte de ser invitada ( y de llevar a una amiga mia tambien Lolis ) porque tengo amigos en común con el cantante mexicano Alejandro Fernández quien se presentó en el palenque viernes y sábado. Mi viaje empezó volando de Tijuana ( donde yo estaba) y llegando a Ciudad de México para encontrarme con los amigos que irían, de ahí volamos hacia Aguascalientes , llegando justo unas horas antes de que empezara el show de Alejandro Fernández . Llegamos al hotel para salir todos juntos con el artista al palenque, - por cierto el hotel está increíble se llama Hacienda Quinta Real en Aguascalientes, es muy bonito y nos trataron súper - al llegar al palenque tomamos nuestros lugares y disfrutamos del buen show que presentó el artista. Obviamente todo súper VIP.

Al día siguiente nos fuimos a conocer la feria es como una mini ciudad, montan restaurantes, antros y ya que pasa la feria, ese lugar queda desierto excepto por la Plaza de Toros que esta fija. Después de comer y ver el ambiente de la feria , el grupo y yo fuimos a ver una corrida de toros ( soy cero fan de esto pero como una de las niñas que venía con nosotros es hermana de uno de los toreros que se presentó ese día: Payo García por eso fuimos ) en lo personal la peor de las experiencias en ese viaje. Saliendo de ahí nos fuimos al hotel y de ahí irnos al 2do. Día de palenque con Alejandro Fernández que por cierto estuvo increíble !! La gente se prendió, cantó horas y la pasamos súper, los toreros también vinieron con nosotros. Cuando termino nos regresamos a la suite del cantante a afteriar como siempre. Al día siguiente volamos a México de nuevo pero sin antes desayunar con el grupo de amigos que ya se había formado ( y que muchos son unos tipazos la verdad).Fue una de las experiencias más divertidas ser invitada y asistir a los shows del Potrillo y por supuesto a la FERIA DE SAN MARCOS.

Les recomiendo que si pueden asistan aunque sea una vez, son tradicionales en este país y su gente tan linda, pero sobre todo disfruten todo lo que ofrece la Feria ¡!

So I got to live a new and very pleasant experience, I attended a weekend to the so famous San Marcos Fair of merito Aguascalientes, Mexico. Since I was a little girl I had heard of this Fair that is one of the most important in the country and that has been taking place - according to what the locals told me - for 189 years, so you will know it is of great tradition. It takes place between the months of April and May in the state of Aguascalientes. Over time it ended up being a very complete and interesting fair. Cock fights in the palenque where attend the most important hen breeding hens of the country, and of course the best singers delighting the public with concerts , there are also bullfights, and the classic fairs showing and selling what is produced around.

I was fortunate enough to be invited (and to take a friend of mine also Lolis) because I have friends in common with the Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández who had concerts in the palenque Friday and Saturday. My trip started flying from Tijuana (where I was) and arriving in Mexico City to meet friends who would go from there, we flew to Aguascalientes, arriving just a few hours before the Alejandro Fernández show began. We arrived at the hotel to leave with the artist to the venue - by the way the hotel is amazing is called Hacienda Quinta Real in Aguascalientes, it is very beautiful and we were treated super - upon arriving at the venue we took our places and enjoyed the good show that presented the artist. Obviously all super VIP. The next day we went to the fair, is like a mini town, restaurants, nightclubs and as the fair passes they take them down , the place is deserted except for the Bullring that is fixed. After eating and seeing the atmosphere of the fair, the group and I went to see a bullfight (I am no fan of this but as one of the girls who came with us is sister of one of the bullfighters that was presented that day : Payo García that's why we went) personally the worst experience on that trip. From there we went to the hotel and then to the 2nd. concert night with Alejandro Fernandez that by the way was incredible !! The people lit up, sang for hours and had a great time, the bullfighters also came with us. Then we return to the singers suite to the after party as always. The next day we flew back to Mexico City again but without having breakfast with the group of friends of the trip that (and that many are such nice people). It was one of the most fun experiences to be invited and to attend the shows of El Potrillo and of course to the Feria de San Marcos. I highly recommend that if you can at least attend once, it´s a traditional thing in this country and the people are soo nice, but above all enjoy all that the Fair offers!
